3. Work Visas

If you plan to work in the UK, various work visas are available, each with specific criteria:

Skilled Worker Visa: Intended for skilled workers with job offers in the UK.

Global Business Mobility Visa: For employees of multinational companies transferring to the UK.

Temporary Work: Includes subcategories like Charity Worker, Religious Worker, and International Agreement worker.

4. Family Visas

Reuniting with your loved ones and being able to remain in the UK with your family is a vital aspect of personal immigration services:

Spouse or Partner Visa: For individuals married to or in a civil partnership with a UK resident or British citizen.

Indefinite Leave to remain as a Spouse/ Partner: For those who have completed 5 years in this category and have successfully met the eligibility requirement.

Leave to remain as a Parent of a child: For those who have a child who is either British, settled or has the right to remain in the UK.

Long Residency- Private Life: For those who want to apply to remain in the UK based on their long residency in the UK and Private life.

Indefinite Leave to Remain on 10-year lawful residency: For those who have been in the UK lawfully for a continuous 10-year period.

Fiancé(e) Visa: For those planning to marry a British citizen or UK resident.

Dependent Child Visa: Tailored for dependent children of a parent with a UK visa.

Adult Dependent Relative Visa: Applicable to dependent parents, grandparents, or other relatives of a UK resident.

5. EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)

The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) is specifically designed for EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens and their family members who were residents in the UK before December 31, 2020. The EUSS provides a way to secure settled or pre-settled status, ensuring the protection of your rights in the UK.

Securing Settled Status: Settled status, under the EUSS, allows you to live and work in the UK indefinitely, with access to healthcare, education, and social benefits. To be eligible for settled status, you must demonstrate five years of continuous residence.

Pre-Settled Status: Pre-settled status is granted if you haven’t met the five-year continuous residence requirement. This status allows you to stay in the UK for up to five years and provides a pathway to settled status.

Obtaining EUSS Share Code: obtaining a share code to demonstrate the legal status you have in the UK, including for employment verification.

Family Permit: Family permits allow certain close family members of EU, EEA, or Swiss citizens living in the UK to join them or accompany them if they are traveling to the UK. This can include spouses, civil partners, children, grandchildren, dependent parents, and dependent grandparents.

6. British Nationality

The path to obtaining British nationality or status can be life-changing for individuals and their loved ones. Our Immigration Solicitors are here to make the application process smooth and stress-free.

British Citizenship (Naturalisation):

British Citizenship can be obtained by either making a Naturalisation application or applying for Registration as a British Citizen.

To apply for Naturalisation you need to have settled status and meet certain requirements. This process grants you the rights and privileges of a British citizen.

A child born in the UK can be registered as a British Citizen, as long as they meet the legal requirements. Our experienced Immigration Solicitors will be able to advise you in detail as to whether your child is eligible to be a British Citizen.

British Overseas Territories Citizenship:

This status is for individuals with connections to British Overseas Territories, such as the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, or Bermuda, granting them citizenship in those territories with specific rights and responsibilities.

British National (Overseas) (BNO):

British National (Overseas) status is specific to British Overseas Nationals from Hong Kong, granted under the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1997. While BNO passport holders have certain rights in the UK, they are not British citizens.

British Subject:

British Subjects do not have the right of abode in the UK and may include individuals from former British colonies.

British Protected Person:

Individuals in this category may not hold any other nationality but have a connection with the UK or its territories, and they are protected by the British government.

British Ancestry Visa:

Though not a form of nationality, the British Ancestry Visa allows individuals with a grandparent born in the UK to live and work in the country. After residing in the UK for a specified period, they may become eligible for British citizenship.
